2001, EURO M.E.P.  Neil Kinnock was invited to speak at South Shields Town Hall by the town's newly elected Member of Parliament, David Miliband.  After a sensational talk on Europe, Mr Kinnock was presented with a "Miner and Sons" bronze sculpture by Bob Olley.
