RARE QUAYSIDE PAINTING TO BE AUCTIONED OFF
"Our Quayside scene of 1971 is a remarkably assured painting of the popular weekly market that still runs today. It's a somewhat Lowry-esque painting with it's simply outlined figures and in a style with which Robert persevered for many years, and still to an extent does today."

Westoe Netty to be rebuilt!
The "Westoe Netty" made famous by the painting by Bob Olley is to be rebuilt at Beamish Open Air Museum. The public toilet was demolished in 1997 but the bricks and urinals were numbered and saved in the hope that it would be rebuilt sometime in the future. Early this year contact was made with Chris Scott, Curator of Industry at the museum and within a few weeks arrangements were made to collect the Netty for reconstruction.
