This print was commissioned in the 80's to be part of a book about South Tyneside and its stories and legends.
"A peculiar hermit known as The Hairy Man inhabited a cave at the North end of Marsden Bay near 'Velvet Beds'. His rocky abode was said to have a shaft leading from the roof of the cave to the cliff top."
